Final Blog

A funny thing happened this summer.

A member suggested I start a blog to help get the word out.  I did.

I found out I could write insightful blogs if I did nothing else but hang on the media news and collect my thoughts, which was possible during my June “staycation.”  But in July, busy with church, I had no time for blogging and during my August real vacation with family, I had no time.

It made me wonder.  And I investigated.

Everything the world condemns the church for–unconnected with reality, living in ivory towers, not helping solve problems in the world, not rolling up their sleeves to get dirty, judgmental, elite, holier-than-thou–I saw reflected in blogs.  And nobody condemns the blogging culture.

Are there no more souls to save?  Are there no more troubled consciences to soothe?  Are there no more lessons about Jesus to teach?  Are there no more sins to be forgiven?

Mass media and those who “churched” people who pursue ministries through mass media must put media (and blogging) ahead of the care for people.  People are sacrificed for the cause.

So…this is my final blog, because I’ve realized,

Blogging is time taken away from doing good deeds.
